Here is a video by Myka Stauffer, Extreme Clean with me and fall decoration. It is time to put away the summer decoration and be ready for the new season ahead. Zoella has created a new video too, uplifting her guest bedroom with a photo gallery and more home decor. I hope these videos give you some motivation to redesign a space in your home ready for the Autumnal season.
So whilst I was out with my friends at the cinema to watch Mama Mia, my hubby decided to start painting our landing, top and the bottom of the stairs. So my hubby had already begun painting up the stairs before I remembered to take a picture, but this is a before picture, prior to him painting the rest of the landing and above the stairs. Picture of my husband painting, it took no time at all, good thing he does painting and decorating for a living. The paint is called Fresh Stem Dulux we got the pot on sale for £2.00. ![]() This is an after photo once my husband completed the painting and it does look a lot fresher. We are soon to have new carpets fitted, but wanted to paint the landing first before carpets were fitted and I am impressed, it so good to have new fresh painted walls, on a bargain pot of paint. Paint was from B&Q. We are gonna change our living room too. My husband has started by taking one of corner cabinets to our bedroom, as we want to create a dining room/living space to watch TV and have lounge time, but spacious at the same time. We need a new table and chairs. Plus need a new sofa as the springs in our current sofa are broken, and the incline doesn't work anymore. I also been motivating myself to keep the place clean and tidy by catching up on Youtube. See below a cleaning video I watched yesterday, for motivation to keep he home clean and tidy. It is a full time job to keep the home clean and changing it helps to revitalize the home and it just stops me from getting stuck in a rut.
I think investing in a pot of paint and new furniture can really lift a place and so as we continue to make changes I will continue to post our change in our home. Do you like to redecorate the home and make changes too? I would love to hear from you Many thanks for reading, Carrie X Yesterday (24th August 2018) I decided to have a sorting out day. Summer time I don't usually have a clear up, but yesterday I just needed to have one.. So I sorted out the bottom of my wardrobe because it was a mess check out the after sort out photo below. I also went through my food cupboard, and wrote down all of what we had, to create a meal planner. If you are getting to the point you feel you have no meals left, to do this, go through your food storage and write down everything you have left, and you'll be surprised how many meals you can create from what you have left. Please check out my food cupboard after photo below. Check out this organisation video below from Myka Stauffer to get some clean up motivation. Many thanks for reading,
Carrie X I love donating items I no longer need to charity. Check out picture below of some items I recently gave to my local Barnardos Charity shop. As I write this blog I look around my bedroom and see more items that not been used that can go to a good cause and be sold to someone else, who may get some use out of it. Like handbags, I buy these thinking "Yes I will get some use out them" at which I find I forget about them and they clog up my wardrobe.
Donating is rewarding and fulfilling as why throw something away that is in good condition and someone else will get use out of? So have a look around your home and see what items you could donate, it gets addictive and clears that clutter, but goes to a good cause. Many thanks for reading, Carrie Check out this article which I found on the Good Housekeeping website, some really good tips to cleaning those surfaces to those sticky trainers from those endless runs or walks. or whatever exercise you do. Check link below:
https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/home/cleaning/g2550/best-cleaning-tips/?slide=3 I hope you find these useful. Many thanks for reading, Carrie X Do you love watching videos Hacks on Youtube? Me too, I can't get enough of them, so I thought I would share some of great Hack videos I came across on Youtube. Saving yourself time is the key to getting things done, and set yourself a section a day rather than doing the whole lot in one go. Check out video above by Emily Norris, who collaborated this video with Myka Stauffer. Let me know if you have any cleaning hacks, not featured in these videos I would love to hear from you.
Many thanks for reading. Carrie X Check out these videos I found for more cleaning motivation. Some good Mum Hacks and a video by Pretty Neat Living purging items from her pantry. I hope you find these useful to have a more productive home. It so good to have that good old clear out before the summer, so you can forget about it until Autumn arrives and enjoy those sunny days.
Many thanks for viewing my blog, please let me know if you have any hacks or if you have created a video of you purging your items, I would love to hear from you. Carrie X Sometimes you have to get motivation to clean up, so I love nothing more than watching others clean and declutter to help get me motivated and ready to clean up. Please check out these videos below of inspiration. Check out Myka Stauffer she often does cleaning motivational videos and find them really inspiring to watch. This is video made by Ash Mama-Reid, who has created a speed cleaning video. There is nothing better than to be able to do a speed clean, really helps set yourself up for the rest of the week. To have a good clean up, it is good to purge items you no longer need, Do It On A Dime does tones of videos on how to reorganize spaces and keep them organized, check out her video above of how she purged items in her closet.
I have created three videos of how I re-organized my husbands bits and bobs. beside his side of the bed and created a more functional and smarter looking area. Here is the second video showing how I reorganize my husbands paperwork Here is the final video, showing how I completed the organization of my husband's side of the bed. It took no time at all, about 5 to 10 minutes and very happy now this space is a lot more tidier and organized.
