HELLO IT IS BLOGMAS DAY 15! It has been a testing day today, we went to a Christmas Market at Wimbledon Chase school, and my son decided he wanted to go as soon as we got there. In the end we took him to a park and soon calmed down. That is children for you, however I still looked around and saw some great things. I have loved markets since I was a kid and you can find some amazing items, such as Homewares. It does depend on what type of market it is, but they are great for cost effective items and often unique. I love storage and there are things you can use that you already might have in your home that you can use, without spending a penny. I have used for example a plastic container from my kitchen to store my sons magnetic letters, chalk and erasers for his Easel, I have a used a plastic container to store my cutlery as I have minimal cupboard and draw storage and use these to store items in my cleaning cupboard aswell. These can be used for many items, and the great thing about these kind of boxes is that you can see through them, so you don't even need to, if you don't want to, label them, as you can already see what is inside them. Above is a picture of Henry's storage box in his bedroom, which we keep in his wardrobe to store his bedding. I wrote a blogpost on my Seasonal Clean up page about Storage boxes, bins and window displays, as they are great items to have, but can still become cluttered and often we buy them because they look nice but they end up not really fulfilling the purpose they were bought for. They can still end up making areas cluttered, so now as I will feel the excitement when I see new storage items, always see what I have first, if the storage item is actually going to help or if a current storage item needs to be changed because it doesn't really help, is worn or no longer needed to be used for the items they were bought for anymore. I do change things around a lot, because I do get bored of areas looking the same all the time, and I am trying to have less now. I do have a planner problem at the moment, as they all look so good and I think "Oooh I wonder what I could use that for?" and they end up being wasted. This is the same with storage aswell. If you like being organised but spend money on storage all the time it can mount up, and if you look around your home you may already have an item that you can use. I found my son's bucket and spade in the shed and suddenly thought I could use that in my kitchen because I wanted something that could use to tore my wipes and my different cloths I use for cleaning without needing to go in the cupboard all the time and it is perfect. See picture below: If you want to know where I got Henry's storage box from that is in the picture above, which we keep in his bedroom, it was from Very, and I have bought other items of storage from there too. These items I use to keep my Hair Care items and my Skincare products. I did have Make up caddy from Lakelands, but I find these to be quite pricey and I had to throw it away because it got clogged up and mucky, so I reverted back to using a make up bag instead. Here is an example of the storage boxes, bins and buckets you can get from Very and often they will come as a bundle rather than just buying one. The other places I like to look is Charity shops. I love a charity shop and they do have some great items and lot less expensive.
These are also great because you can use them to create a gift for someone, like a hamper, a christmas gift box for kids and to store presents in once they are opened. In our shed we use the large storage boxes to store our Christmas decorations and other decor and items, and will often go through them to have a clear out. So if you like storage and you have any hacks or ideas of how to use them and how to minimize buying storage, then please leave some tips below. Sorry I haven't posted much on this page, I am from this point forward going to post a lot more. I do love really good homeware goods and like to add different items as we change seasons. In this post I am sharing some #Homewares for the #Autumn. #Autumn is one of my favourite seasons and I love having a good old clear out, check out my Seasonal Clean up posts, and given some spaces a bit of TLC to prepare and get ready for the colder weather ahead. Check out my blog about Preparing for the Autumn. Here are some pieces I have added this year in my home. First off is bedding. I love having a nice set of duvet covers and sheets. We changed the bedding in our bedroom and in the guest bedroom and I would like to buy some more for my sons room aswell. These were (see above and below) from #Groupon who do some great deals from fashion, to cleaning products, toiletries to home goods, and these were chosen by my husband, who I got to say has really good taste. Check out #Groupon as these sets are good quality as they do feel nice and soft, I always review a bedding product based on comfort and how nice they feel when I lay in them and if they wash well. They definitely ticked all the boxes for me. I will be searching for more items on #Groupon as we continue to move from season to season. The second items I added to my home this year, as I continue to do my #homemakeover for this #Autumn, is some photo frames. These were from #Poundland I also did find some lovely items in #Dunelm, which I am going to go back to as they had some great Christmas items out already. I could have literally spent all day in there. However #Poundland do, do some nice quality homeware goods too and I always like to browse in my local store, to see what they have got, and I found these. The "6x4" frame came as a pack of two, and really fitted my "6x4" photos perfectly, and I didn't have to cut or alter the size of the photos. The other frame was a single item, and I did have to use washy tape and alter the size of the photos to fit them in and to stop the photos from moving about, however they still came out alright and I am very pleased with all of these frames. If you have read my Seasonal Clean up blogs and read my first #Autumn blog, My Autumn Clean up has begun, you would have seen that I had purchased a pair of white shells for mine and my husband's bedroom windowsills. I have used them to store our conkers we collect to stop those spiders from coming into our room. They were from #Dunelm and were £2.50 each, which I think is really good value for money, and I love them. I think they just add a real nice touch to the windowsill complimenting the photo frames. There are some really nice items on Studio too that I have seen. Please continue to read below. Here is a Prosecco sign, great if you like entertaining friends and having a laugh with your home decor. This is £6.99. Getting ready for the spooky season this year, and want to add some #Halloweendecor then check out Studio for their #Halloweendecor themed doormats this one is only £5.99. I am a sucker for #homestoragebboxes and have many items like these in my home. These would be great to store your children's bedding, extra clothes, summer clothes you want to store away or to keep their towels or toys, books. You name it, you can store it. There are quite a selection at Studio, so go and check these out. These would really add a splash of colour, but still give you that minimal look. These are a set of two for £12.99. Then lastly, add a bit of #gothictheme to your home, why not if you have space and are looking to revamp your home, invest in a lantern. I love these and is definitely on my purchase for later list. I have been meaning to buy a set of these for quite some time, but it has never happened. I hope it happens this year instead. Here is one for just £9.99. So what homewares have you seen and where?
