It is that time of year again where I have a lot of birthdays coming up, and I wanted to do some great gift ideas for her, because last month it was my birthday and that's where I got my inspiration from. Check out my blog post "My 41st birthday", if you wanted to find out what I got and what I did. Each year I do find it harder knowing what to buy. However today, I was watching an interview of an ex-footballer turned actor, see my blog post I published today called "We should love more/A lesson for us all" and in part of it he talked about what he always got his wife for her birthday and it was, he would fly her friends over to LA and that was her birthday gift every year. So this got me thinking. What are some of the best gifts you could give to those ladies in your life, whether it be a girlfriend, wife, sister, mother, auntie or bestfriend that would leave forever lasting memories and would really brighten up their day. This is what I came up with. This doesn't mean spending your life savings, but why not if you like shopping, and yes I am talking to men aswell, as some do like shopping (not all of them stand there tapping their feet in impatience) treat them to a shopping trip. If you are a lady who is wanting to do a good gift and have a day out with another lady friend or female family member, have a ladies day out and go to your favourite shops and have some retail therapy. If she asks why tell her, I want to take you on a shopping spree for your birthday. You can make a day of it. Find a local park to walk through and have lunch in (when the weather is good). My husband and I over the weekend just gone, had a lovely time up at the #southbank in London. A brilliant place to go for a day out. Not many shops, but many bars, theatre's, a cinema and some famous UK attractions. You could book a lunch or dinner table at a local restaurant after you've been shopping, to talk and reflect on the day you have had. Take a selfie to remember and other photos. Or you why not get her pampered at a local spa or pay for them to get their hair done. There are loads of ideas on sites such as: Buyagift.co.uk Virgin Experience Days Groupon Nowadays there are plenty of music festivals, concerts and shows out there. Does your girlfriend, partner, bestfriend or sister for example, love music? Why not treat them to a summer music festival or concert. If you are on Facebook, keep your eyes open to the events advertised on there, as they often will do a sale price on events and you can click on the event and click going, and you will be sent a reminder via Facebook of the event coming up. Also if you log into your account and search local events on your page making sure you have added your location on Facebook, it will give you a list of all the events coming up in your area. Check out: https://guides.ticketmaster.co.uk/gifts/ Exactly what it says. Why not if you are on a low budget invite your friend who's birthday it is to your house and cook them a nice meal, watch a movie and have a good old fashion sleepover. I think you are never too old for one of these, and me and my friends often did this before our kids came along, even in our thirties. You can each bring some food, if you are going to invite more than one friend to celebrate and put on some of your favourite tunes, put on your favourite PJ's or why not get some t-shirts designed or wear matching PJ's. Get out the photo albums and see if you recreate some of the photos from your past to add into your present time together. #everlastingmemories. Not gonna make this blog too long, so going to make this the last idea, but why not get her a handmade gift. You can get a load of craft items from Wilko, Poundland, The Works or Hobby Craft, and create a gift. You can personalise it, like a photo frame or a scrapbook with some old photos and new.
There is so much out there that it isn't about the materialistic items anymore, but about creating forever memories together. Why not check out my Homewares Page, as homewares are often great presents too, and my fashion and beauty page. If you have other gift ideas you wish to share then please comment below. I would love to hear your suggestions. Many thank for reading, Carrie X
