![]() So i just finished work and so got a bit of time to myself before hubby gets in, so I thought I would write my Friday Blog. I want to send a message to all cyclists out there. I totally respect you for those who cycle to and from work, who do their cycling trail on Sunday morning, doing their paper rounds and who cycle through the parks and commons, but I also respect those who when they are on a bike that they respect others using the pavements and roads too. Massive respect to those who don't go through the lights because they fill they don't have to wait like the other vehicles on the road, because they are on a bicycle, who don't go too fast when in a park or common, who wear luminous clothing so they can be seen and a helmet with knee pads. Who use the cycle lanes in roads and paths provided. It can not be coincidence that each week or more times a week I see people cycling recklessly. Last Wednesday some lady on a bike was cycling on a pavement instead of using the cycle lane provided, because she didn't want to cycle the opposite side of the road, which she should have done, and instead of allowing us pedestrians the right away carried on cycling making it very awkward for us to get through, even though there are elderly people walking those pavements, adults with young children and people with their dogs. Some guy, hat off to him he did use the cycle lane in the road provided, but had no visual light clothing and was using just his lights, which sorry at night is not enough, You need to be seen properly and either wear visual top or bottoms. Walking through the common, this lady was cycling so fast she nearly knocked this young girl off her bike, some guy jumped the lights nearly knocking into myself and my son in his pushchair and seen a lady with a child hanging of the back of a bike, in Wimbledon. No child seat provided on the back just sitting sideways on the bar that sticks out at the back of bike, through a busy road and the lady on the bike was wearing no helmet or pads. Never think that "It can never happen", that you can never be knocked off your bike and have an accident, or run someone over, because believe me I have seen it and it can happen. Do you really want the activity you enjoy be the path to your death or the cause of others ending up in hospital? or worse causing their deaths too? Even when riding a bike it is still a vehicle and you do still as a cyclist have a responsibility to take care for yourself and for others too. So please to those cyclists, do continue to cycle but please never take it for granted that you can't cause accidents, when not cycling safely. Everybody whether in a car, van, bus, coach, motorbike or bicycle should all be responsible for keeping the roads safe and follow the highway code. Many thanks for reading, Carrie X

![]() It is amazing how a day can be so different. This morning it was cold but sunny and as the sun was shining it was really lovely out, as I went for my run along the common this morning. However later on it got really grey and cold. There is something special about being out in the morning mixing with nature. It not only wakes you up and sets you up on your day, but also helps clear the mind and be peaceful with yourself. I have never enjoyed running and walking so much as I do now, especially since motherhood, as time to me is more precious than before, having a short amount, I feel I have to make the most of. seeing things through my son eyes, every minute of the day and treasure those peaceful moments. Exercise you see doesn't have to be about how much you sweat, but of how much it makes you feel inside and about yourself. Learning to be at peace with yourself can be tricky, and that is why getting up in the mornings go for a run or walk, can really discipline you to do that and focus on one thing and not try to do so many things at once. So if you are looking for reasons to get out doors more and be fitter, than that sure is a really good reason to do so. Happy Friday evening people, have a good valentines day on Sunday, and I will blog again next week. Many thanks for reading, Carrie X ![]() So today apparently according to the website https://www.daysoftheyear.com It is Working Naked Day..mmm.., so who has been tempted to go to work in their buff? Probably a few by the end of the evening, who are going for the "Just the one" drink tonight. I no what that means, and no I have never gotten naked, I don't think anyway. It was never just the one for me on a Friday out with my work colleagues and my mum would get, come 12am a call to say that my colleagues were putting me in a cab home. Or I would meet up with my friends "They know who they are" when working up London, and at the time one of my friends worked for the police in the Guildhall in the City where they would have a bar open at the end of each month. It was very inexpensive and you know when you have visited a place too much, when you don't even have to give your name to security and they let you in, and then the bar staff have already pulled you a drink even before you have given what you wanted. I bet my friend thought that I was gonna be getting a job there soon, going on how familiar the staff was with me that I didn't even get searched by security when I went in. They were good days though and great nights out, apart from I kept loosing things on those evenings, and still end up leaving something at my friends house I stay at sometimes when out up London. *** This week coming it is Pancake day, on Tuesday 9th February, and I will be trying to make them again, but will buy some as a back up just in case. I would love to see pictures of peoples pancakes please post on my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/carriesrealworld/?ref=hlhttps://www.facebook.com/carriesrealworld/?ref=hl I have been doing more of a clear up for the winter and it is surprising how much you can get rid of and change, and it doesn't have to take all day. A great way to do it, is by doing a 5 minute challenge,
Be interested to find out if people have done this and how they got on, it is a great way to clear up a space, with so little time. I have been doing well with my spending fast, I have more in my bank and paying money in cash really has helped, when you see little change handed bank, it does make you think and take more care when wanting to buy items. I will keep posting how I am getting on, and would recommend to others to give this a go, if you too find your spending can get out of hand. It is a great way of gaining control. Anyway have a great weekend peeps and see you again on Monday. Many thanks for reading. Carrie X |
