This was the book I read over Christmas, and bought last year with some Christmas money.
Magda is left with her Aunt Bridget by her father who works at sea but promises to come back so her, her sisters and brother can all be together again as a family. However knowing that her father didn't always speak the truth began to realise this wasn't true and was treated with utter cruelty by her Aunt Bridget but then is given a choice of a new life with the lady who lives across the way. However she knows Aunt Bridget has something of hers which has details of where her sisters and brother are and wants it so she can finally find them and be together with them again. Great book, you will need your tissues for this one in some parts, but a great read. I give the book 10/10.

![]() Maddie, who is heartbroken after her boyfriend dumps her, is left to look after her parent, ex-pop bad from the 80's, Karaoke Bar whilst they make a revival on their pop career. She signs her parents bar after realising what a big task it is to turn this run down bar around, to a reality show, but that turns out to be a big mistake aswell. signs the bar up to take part in a reality show, but she soon realises that, that was a big mistake. Took a while to read, I tried a few times, but once I did read on, it was a great comical story and great book to read. I would give 9/10 ![]() Phoebe opens up her Vintage Fashion shop, and thanks to Dan gets a good load of publicity and finds stranger with a mustache bidding against her at one of the auctions she goes to, to get supplies for her shop. She meets a lady who wants to sell her clothes to Phoebes shop at which Phoebe finds a beautiful little girls blue coat. At first the lady tells Phoebe off, as she said not to touch anything on the side of that closet. However she decides to tell Phoebe about the history of her coat, it was for a friend she knew back when she was a little girl who was captured by the German Army back before World War 2, and blames herself for Monique's capture. She kept the coat all those years, in case she ever saw her friend ever again. At first I thought the first part of the story was a bit corny, the dialogue did read smoothly, but as I read on it was a lovely great book, with a bit of vintage in itself, and would recommend a good read, especially for this time of the year. I would rate 8/10. |
