So if I don't manage to blog on a Monday, I will blog on a Tuesday instead.

Time caught up with me yesterday, cleaning the kitchen and getting bits done before I took Henry to Gymboree.

It was in a Play Cafe that has a mini kids gym, where Henry also played for a bit. As soon as we got in I put him to bed, it certainly tired him out.

He slept on until this morning.

I was up though last night working, as I have been updating and re-editing my books.

"The Parenting Adventures- The First Nine Months" and my first novel  "A Lonely Walk From Happiness". I will let you all know once these have been republished.

If you would like to get into writing, it is time consuming and takes a lot of discipline and commitment like other things, but if you really want to take people in your mind or world then writing a book is a great thing to do.

That is what a book is, the writer is taking you into their imagination and world.

Some starting tips:

1. Create the picture.

So when you think of a story or book, play the picture in your mind. This will help write it down and help create that image onto paper or type it up on the computer.

The skeleton draft is always the foundation in which you can develop once you have all the story and images in your mind in writing.

2. Always have a notepad and a pen to hand so if you have an idea you can jot it down. I do find that my mind will wonder and create ideas, in the most unexpected of places.

3. Create and picture your main character or characters. Again like tip one, picturing the characters, what they are wearing, smelling, hearing, their posture, are the confident, shy or scared? Do they have piercings, a tattoo? Who else can you see as you play the images of the story or book you wish to create >

4. What role do they play in your story?

5. Edit once you have got the base of your story down. Leave it and then come back, as you don't always see the mistakes in the spelling and grammar until you go back to it.

Writing is not just a passion but is a powerful thing, I love reading books where I am griped in the story and want to read on, and on. I love being taught something new, they can give you a new interest and inspire you. Books can help those like my books whom are or have gone through the same experiences as you.

It is a great tool and I will always encourage people to read as you never know what you can find or what you will learn and discover.

Many thanks for reading,

Carrie X

Tuesdays are a time to catch up on what I didn't get done on Monday after my son's Monkey Music class and getting any food shopping we need.
